Use your surroundings

You are probably catching onto the trend in these exercises—it’s all about refocusing your attention, calming down your nervous system, and coming back to center so you can move forward in your day in a more thoughtful and nourishing way. We take the opportunity to catch our breath, so to speak—maybe literally in some situations!

This exercise is great for adults and teens and can be modified slightly for younger children. It can help with anxiety, nightmares, sleep disturbances, grounding, and relaxation.

If you are doing this with a teen or child, model it for them first and then listen and stay as present as possible while they do it. If you or your child are doing this to help with sleep, and you get tired in the middle, that’s good! You can stop to fall asleep.
